ANALISIS GENDER: PERSPEKTIF DALAM PENULISAN BUKU TEKS PELAJARAN

Abstract: This writing is a literature review on the significance of conducting gender analysis on text books. Gender issues have not been much of a concern in textbooks in Indonesia whereas studies about this issue have indicated that textbooks tend to portray stereotypical gender roles which might be disadvantageous to a certain gender group, specifically women. Considering the possibilities of text books to carry gender bias, it is deemed necessary that the authority start with conducting gender analysis so that further unnecessary damage to biased gender roles could be avoided. Therefore, it is instrumental that gender issues in textbooks are analyzed.

EFIKASI DIRI DAN KINERJA GURU SERTA HASIL BELAJAR LITERASI SISWA

Abstract: This article aims at analysing the influence of self efficacy and teacher performance on student’s literacy learning, especially in reading and writing. The analysis is based on a study conducted in 16SMPs in the municipality and regency of Bandung. The study uses a teacher self-efficacy scale, a principal evaluation scale, reading and writing tests, interviews, and class observations. The result of the study comes up with six findings which are (1) the weak correlation between teachers’ efficacy and students’ learning achievements, (2) self efficacy has no impact on learning practices, (3) teachers has no habit of doing self efficacy, (4) teacher efficacy has a significant correlation on teachers’ own self evaluation on their performance (r=.732), but an insignificant correlation on students’ ability in reading (r=.139) and writing (r=.094), (5) there is a positive correlation between teachers’ self evaluation and the principal evaluation, (6) reliance on textbooks is not followed by an improvement in teachers’ skill to make questions.

KETERBACAAN BUKU TEKS PELAJARAN BERDASARKAN KETERPAHAMAN BAHASA INDONESIA

Abstract: This articles discloses the comprehension aspect of the use of Indonesian language among learners in reading textbooks in order to determine the textbooks’ level of readability. The textbooks under study are textbooks for Bahasa Indonesia, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences. Using observation techniques, tests and questionnaires, data are collected from a purposively selected sample of locations and from a stratified random sampling of students. The results show that comprehension of the Indonesian language in the four textbooks is effected by the vocabulary which are introduced, students’ familiarity with sentences, understanding of main ideas, and the discourse selected.

TEORI SKOPOS DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PENERJEMAHAN

Abstract: This essay discusses one of important theories in translation studies. Translation is not a new theory. It has been developed since many centuries ago. Translation has been one of the bases of civilization. This theory of translation is based on Katharina Reiss’ Translationtheorie, written together with Hans J, Vermeer in 1984. They argue that translation should be governed primarily by the one functional aspect which predominates, or by the original’s “Skopos”. Reiss’ work is aimed less at theory and more at developing standards of evaluation from which she can judge the quality of the translated text.

REPRESENTASI GENDER DALAM TEKS BERITA

Abstract: This article discusses an analysis on gender representation in a news texts are laden with gender bias. Women in this particular news text are presented from a male perspective as dependent beings. Everything about women is impated by a single male narrator. This has objectified the women and, in this particular text, resulted in a representation which portrays a bad image.

Abstract: This article is an analysis on the label “uncontrolled readings” or bacaan liar which was given to books published by non-Balai Pustaka publishers considered to have different ideologies from the East-Indies government. Two novels written by Marco Kartodikromo, Student Hidjo and Hikayat Kadiroen, and a novels written by Samaoen, Rasa merdika, are the sources for this exploration and analysis on the label bacaan liar.

PELESETAN SEBAGAI KREATIVITAS BERBAHASA: KAJIAN TENTANG DAKWAH BERBAHASA SUNDA

Abstract: This is a study on word slippage as found in the preachings in the Sundanese language. From the study, it is found that there are four types of slippage: phonological, morphological, syntactical and discoursal slippages. On many occasions, these slippages are aimed at triggering laughter from the audience. Preachers who use this kind of jokes in their sermons are popular in the society but they generate a question about the effectiveness of the sermon as a tool for preaching as there are preachers who seem to give more emphasis on the laughter rather than the content.
